Welcome to Fictional Fabrication Editorial

Hello, my name is Sam and I am the Editor and founder of Fictional Fabrication. I provide a variety of editing services for fiction authors throughout their publishing journey. This is a safe space for authors no matter their chosen publishing route, their process, or what their goals may be.

As an editor, I focus on building a strong foundation with writers to create a safe space for conversation and critique. Nothing is more dejecting than receiving your book red-penned to hell and back with no positive feedback. I focus on providing those critical edits to polish your story while providing positivity, open communication, and a strong support system.

My dedication to good communication and security comes directly from my education and outside work experience. I have a BA in English and a minor in Editing and Publishing which gave me a wide variety of experience. I have worked with creative nonfiction, general nonfiction, long-form fiction, and flash fiction. This wide array of experience played a key role in narrowing my expertise as an editor to fiction, both long and short form.

On top of that, I spent two years working as a college writing tutor. I worked extensively with graduate students on their thesis throughout the writing process. This one-on-one experience taught me more than I could have ever hoped about developing strong communication skills and creating a third-place atmosphere for writers both in person and online.

After graduating, I chose to further my education through EFA courses and will continue to do so. With an ever-changing industry, it’s crucial to keep learning and expanding my skills.

I chose to open my editorial practice to focus on the author. An author’s story is unique and cannot be told without their voice. I never want to compromise an author’s voice or their experience. When I work with an author they are heard and supported in their publishing journey.

If you are on the lookout for an editor who prioritizes the authenticity of your voice while still giving your book a comprehensive edit, please reach out to me with any questions!

About Me

About Me

Hello! My name's Sam and I am a nonbinary (they/them) book lover, writer, and editor. I love all things books from thousand page long high fantasy to short romance novellas. Here you'll find a space to support readers and writers alike with book reviews, lists, writing prompts, and challenges. When I'm not lost in the pages of a book, I can be found with a cup of coffee, walking with my dog, and raving about N.K. Jemisin
